Light Bearing Thought
8 October 2014
Pastor Willie Naulls
Today is the day after FourScore . . .
It is time for self-examination of who I am. The Word of God says “As He is, so are we [Light Bearers] in this world” (I John 4:17b). “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Question: Am I the same yesterday, and today, and forever? I will have to give an account of myself to God (Romans 14:12).
The Lord God Almighty, Creator of the heavens and the Earth, has continued to bless me to live as a witness of Christ’s resurrected Light. Living as one who presumes to be a teacher, I am acutely aware that God holds me to a stricter judgment (James 3:1).
I have been privileged to witness one of my students, my daughter Lisa, mature into a humble, trained up and respected musical talent, committed to serving God’s work and purpose. His light shines through His unique musical gift entrusted to Lisa to attract people around the world to Jesus Christ.
Fruit continues to be produced through the missionary outreach of our music ministry, Day Dawn Horizons – vocal training, stage presentation and the concept of responsibility to give glory to God through one’s gifts. Minister of Music Lisa Naulls is a graduate of Stanford University in English Literature and earned a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance in Opera from UCLA’s Graduate School of Music. She toured for many years with Albert McNeil’s Jubilee Singers throughout the United States, South America, Europe and Asia.
Lisa's missionary work includes teaching Gospel music to Japanese non-English-speaking Christians. She has also taught music appreciation and instruction in conjunction with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s after-school program. These inspired outreach works together with God were entrusted to Lisa’s creativity. She teaches children songs in seven languages and produces programs of music and dance with her students. Lisa is a Sectional Leader of St. John’s Episcopal Church choir. For over twenty years, she has blessed a number of Jewish temples with her soprano voice during both Sabbath and annual High Holy Days services.
The excellent music ministry of Lisa Naulls has been underutilized due to limited resources. Untold numbers of young people in all socioeconomic and ethnic groups whom the Lord sends will benefit as a result of being blessed by this gifted woman of God. Lisa’s unique gifts of teaching music theory, vocal techniques and performance instruction inspire young souls to value and develop the musical gifts and talents God has entrusted to each. Jesus said, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit” (John 15:8).
We believe God will provide the funds for all of His work here, including expanding the horizons that Day Dawn illuminates and keeping competitive our means of communication in print and online. Unite with us in prayer that God will inspire His Spirit of Generosity in cheerful givers to expand our opportunities to spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through God’s work here at Willie Naulls Ministries.
God loves you. And so do I.
